Our Thesis

The technical bar is the entry fee, not the edge.

Every serious banking candidate has drilled the same few hundred technical questions. There’s never been more competition and technicals have never been easier to learn.

You used to be able to get all the answers right, be inoffensive and get the offer. That’s the past.

So what’s actually deciding who gets the offer today?

Where the edge is today

Ask a banker who they pushed for and you won’t hear “she nailed the WACC question.” You’ll hear that they had a great conversation. That they stayed composed through follow ups and made them smile. That they could see themselves sitting next to each other on a live deal at 2am.

Technicals get you into the room. Everything after that is whether people want to be there with you every day.

Why nobody teaches this

Because it doesn’t sell. Fear and uncertainty do.

A technical question has an answer you can memorize and check. Teaching you how to “be someone people want to work with” is a lot harder to communicate. It’s also scarier for students. It’s easy to sit down and study a million questions. It’s hard to think about yourself critically and improve.

It’s also hard to write. Most prep companies lock the personality lessons behind expensive 1v1 sessions. Not because they want to be greedy, just because there aren’t many great writers with banking knowledge.

Soft skills are scary and hard to communicate. Technicals just sell better.

Why we're anonymous

When you’re anonymous, you can be more honest. Both with what you say and how you build your brand.

This will never be our career. We want to give back the hard lessons we learned and build a network for our brilliant kids. We can do that best by staying out of the spotlight.
